While I don't support any type of weapons ban for law abiding US citizens, 7,500 asult rifles heading to the US from Turkey is a problem.

"Turkish ship headed for New York ? and stuffed with thousands of AK-47s (search) and other Kalashnikov assault rifles ? was seized en route in Italy, authorities said Tuesday.

The ship's deadly hoard of more than 7,500 terrorist-grade rifles and machine guns worth more than $6 million was discovered illegally hidden under piles of properly labeled arms in several massive cargo containers, Italian officials said."

At only $800 dollars a pop you can have yourself a AK-47. Wonder where that cargo was headed. That is an awful lot of guns, I sure would like to know where they were supposed to go.

I don't understand the problem. More guns always equal less crime. They should sneak in a million of 'em, our crime rate would probably disappear.

I would expect nothing less from you. But, as usual with your type of thinking you left something out. The correct statement is - More guns in the hands of law abiding people = less crime.

Just as guns don't kill without someone pulling the trigger, guns won't reduce crime in the hands of criminals.

The title of John Lott's book is simply "More Guns, Less Crime". Guns do not kill people, they reduce crime. Sneak 'em in, we'll all be safer.

You know, a few years ago I would have gotten into a discussion with you about this, but it's just not worth it.

Both gae and I believe the "end times" are coming. Not the end of the world, but as jumper said, the end of our life style.

All through history every great civilizations died from within. In every case the civilization started out with conservative beliefs and high moral standards and as they developed wealth and life became easy, liberal thoughts and loose morals became popular. It is happening to us right now. There was a time when I thought this could be reversed, but I think its too late. Add to this the fact that the world is reaching a critical mass in population and nature will correct it.

What are you going to do when they are knocking on your door and all you have in your hand is your dick, call the police? Right, they will be there in a few hours to mop up your blood.
